Information we collect: what information do we collect?
Use of information: how do we use the information we collect?
Information storage and security: how do we store and protect the information we collect?
Privacy settings: how can you control your own privacy settings?
Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
Information you give to us when you first register as a Whatson Planner user, like your first name, last name, email address, profile picture and phone number.
Information we get from your use of our services, like calendar information (after permission), device information (after permission), location information (after permission), phonebook contacts (after permission), statistics of usage.
Information we get from you when you contact us (e.g. via our contact forms on our website), like your name and email address.
Use of information
When you submit personal information, we use this information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of our services. We collect information to continuously improve and personalize our services. The information collected is necessary to make the app work both functionally and technically:
Personal information (like first name, last name, email address, phone number, profile picture) is essential to authenticate you as the user and for others to identify you as a user of Whatson Planner.
Calendar information is used to display your existing appointments in Whatson Planner and to derive your availability.
Phonebook contacts are used to identify other Whatson Planner-users and to be able to communicate with other users (send invitations, chat).
Contacts are used to invite for meetings and are never contacted without your permission.
(Event) location information is used to optimize the ‘find the time’ function and to support services you requested.
We may use both your personal information and certain non-personally-identifiable information (such as anonymous user usage data) to create new features, promotions, functionalities and services by storing, tracking, and analyzing user preferences and trends.
We may use your email address or phone number to inform you about our services, such as letting you know about upcoming changes or improvements.
We do not share personal information with companies, organizations and individuals outside of Whatson Planner, except to provide the services you have explicitly requested.
Whatson Planner is currently ad-free and we hope to keep it that way. To support our operations we might introduce advertisement into our app and on our website. The introduction of advertisement services could result in the sharing of anonymous information with 3rd parties.
For legal reasons, we will share personal information to meet any applicable law, to respond to court orders and legal processes and to detect, prevent or address fraud, security or technical issues.
Log information and Cookies
We may use log file information to: (a) remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your next visit; (b) provide custom, personalized content and information; (c) monitor individual and aggregate metrics such as total number of users, screens viewed, etc.; and (d) track your entries, submissions, views and such.
Information storage and security
Whatson Planner continuously works hard to protect Whatson Planner and the information we collect of our users. In particular:
We encrypt all of our services that process personal information, using SSL and TLS.
Personal information (like first name, last name, email address, phone number, avatar) is stored on servers in a secured way.
Information regarding your availability and planning preferences (to learn from your planning behaviors and provide better options to meet) is stored on servers in a secured way. Calendar information (like appointments) is not stored on servers.
Our objective is to be clear about what information we collect and how you can influence your own privacy settings to make meaningful choices how you are going to use Whatson Planner. You have control over your privacy settings via the following options, accessible via our app’s menu:
Personal. Your name (as it is saved in other user’s mobile phone address book or contact list) and profile picture may be displayed to other users. In this section, you can change your personal information like your first name, last name, email address and profile picture.
Privacy. We will never share meeting information (with whom you are planning to meet where and when) from calendars (except from the meetings you create or reply to in Whatson Planner) with other users. We have created two options, customizable per contact:
Option 1 (default setting). Your calendar information will not be shared with any of Whatson Planners users. Your availability is limitedly shared with other Whatson Planners users: contacts will not be able to see your availability sign (green or red). Your availability is taken into account when using Whatson Planner’s ‘find the time’ function in an anonymous manner. For clarity, other Whatson Planner users are presented with three options, signifying the most likely options to meet. The ‘find the time’-function is limited per timeframe. Your profile picture may be visible to other users of the Service who have your mobile phone number. By using our Service, you acknowledge that your profile picture may be globally viewed by other Whatson Planner users and your linked calendars are taken into account when presenting the three most likely options to meet. There is an option to enable or disable calendars in settings > calendars.
Option 2. Your calendar information will not be shared with any of Whatson Planners users. Your availability is shared with other users: contacts will be able to see your availability sign (green or red) and your availability is taken into account when using Whatson Planner’s ‘find the time’ function. You may want to use this option for your closest contacts, the ones in your inner circle.Calendars. Determine the way you would like to a) synchronize your calendars with Whatson Planner and vice versa: b) synchronize Whatson Planner with your calendars:
Select the calendars you would like to synchronize with Whatson Planner. Meetings planned in those calendars will a) be taken into account to identify the best options to meet and b) appear in your timeline as meetings. We suggest to not include the ‘birthday’ calendar and the ‘national holidays’ calendar, because you might look ‘fully booked’.Select the calendars where you would like Whatson Planner to synchronize with. Meetings planned and accepted in Whatson Planner will be automatically updated in the selected agendas.Don’t disturb. Sometimes, you just don’t want to be disturbed. Use the ‘don’t disturb’ feature to choose the day parts you don’t want to be disturbed. You will be less likely to receive any meeting suggestions and meeting invitations as a result of Whatson Planner’s ‘find the time’ function.
Questions and suggestions
We tried to keep it as simple as possible. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us at email@example.com.
